Teaching Opportunities for Graduate Students
Baylor piano pedagogy graduate students have the opportunity to teach students from toddlers, to elementary school and even college classes.
Class Piano for Non-Music Majors
Piano pedagogy graduate students with an assistantship teach beginning class piano to non-music majors with the Faber Adult Piano Adventures.
Applied Piano for Non-Music Majors
Graduate students with an assistantship also teach applied lessons to non-music majors with some piano experience. Students range in skill level to elementary students to advanced. Some students choose to take applied lessons after completing the class piano for non-music majors.
Piano Lab Program
Graduate students and undergraduates have the opportunity to teach in Baylor's community outreach, after school Piano Lab Program. Students get experience teaching group class to elementary beginners and preparing lesson plans with fun music games, relay races, and ensembles. Each student teacher also teaches a 30 minute private lesson to their elementary student.
Graduate students are sometimes given opportunities to teach Musikgarten, a music program designed for babies, toddlers, and preschool students.
